Want to be a water-saving hero? Here’s a fun and simple way to show your friends how water is wasted — and what you all can do to protect it!
Why saving water is important.
What habits waste water.
How we can help people and the planet by using less water.
A picture or a toy tap (or real one, if available) showing it dripping.
A cup of clean water.
A small sponge.
Optional: images of a toothbrush, shower, or washing dishes.
1. Start with a Question:
Show your friends the dripping tap (or picture) and ask:
“Do you think this is wasteful?”
“What happens if this keeps dripping all day?”
2. Sponge Rescue Game:
Pour small drops of water from the cup, one by one, and ask your friends to “save” them using a sponge.
Explain that every drop of water counts, and little waste adds up to a lot over time!
3. Talk About Habits:
Show pictures of daily activities (like brushing teeth or taking a shower) and ask:
“Where do we use water every day?”
“What can we do to save water?”
Examples:
Turn off the tap while brushing teeth.
Take shorter showers.
Fix leaking taps.
Ask your friends:
“How do you use water at home?”
“What’s one thing you’ll start doing to save water?”
Make posters with messages like “Every Drop Counts” or “Save Water, Save the Planet.”
Keep a “Water Diary” for a week to track where you use water and where you can save it.
You’re ready to teach others how to protect one of Earth’s most precious resources — water! Great job!
