Hi friends! I’m going to lead us through a fun art activity using things we find in nature — like leaves and flowers — to make beautiful, Earth-friendly art!
Are you ready to explore, paint, and stamp? Let’s go!
We’ll go on a short nature walk, collect leaves, twigs, and flowers, then use them as natural stamps to make cool art! You’ll see all the textures and shapes that nature gives us — and turn them into something creative.
How to look closely at nature’s shapes and patterns
How different plants and leaves are built
How to use our hands, eyes, and imagination all together
White paper
Washable paint (different colors)
Paintbrushes or paint trays
Leaves, flowers, and twigs (only ones that have already fallen!)
Table covers or aprons (to stay clean!)
Let’s head outside (school yard, garden, or park) and gather some fallen leaves, flowers, and twigs.
As we collect, look closely at:
The shapes of the leaves
The edges (smooth? jagged?)
The textures (bumpy? soft?)
Remember: take only things from the ground, not from living plants!
Now let’s turn our nature finds into stamps!
Choose a leaf or flower
Use a brush or tray to lightly add paint to one side
Press it onto your paper like a stamp
Try different colors, patterns, or even a full picture!
You can make a:
Forest scene
Flower garden
Abstract pattern with colors and shapes
Once everyone’s done:
Lay the papers flat to dry
Let’s talk about how plants help the Earth — like how trees clean the air
Make a little art gallery with our works! Add your name and maybe a title like “Magic Leaf Forest” or “Nature Explosion”
You just made beautiful art with nature — without harming it!
You also learned how to see plants in a brand-new way.
Let’s keep being kind to nature — and keep creating!
